Early bird ticket prices until the 31st March

We would love as many of us as possible to make it to Focus this year.

We also know that for lots of different reasons — practical, financial, or personal — Focus can sometimes feel daunting or feel out of reach. This page is here to help you find information, point you in the right direction, and let you know where support might be available.

Please don’t quietly rule yourself out. We’d much rather have a conversation and explore what might be possible together.

Accessibility at Focus

We don’t want accessibility to be something that gets in the way of coming to Focus.

Focus has a dedicated accessibility page which outlines the support and adjustments available across the site. You can find that here:

https://focus.htb.org/accessibility

Alongside this, if there’s anything specific we could look at to help make B&A’s pitch at Focus work for you, please do reach out to us at focus@babristol.org. We can’t promise solutions to everything, but we’ll do out best!

Ticket cost

If the cost of a Focus ticket feels like the main blocker, there are a few helpful things to know:

  • Early Bird tickets are available until 31st March 2026

  • Focus offers the option to pay in instalments, which can help spread the cost.

  • One of the best ways to experience Focus is by serving on team, which often comes with a free or discounted ticket. Many people say serving is one of the highlights of Focus. You can find out more here:

    https://focus.htb.org/team

At the moment, we don’t have a dedicated B&A Focus ticket bursary fund. We’ll update information on this page if extra funding becomes available.

Food cost

You really don’t need to do Focus on a lavish budget. We’ve designed the B&A Meal Pass to help reduce overall costs for first-timers, particularly by cutting down the amount of cooking kit you need to bring. That said, there’s absolutely no pressure to buy a Meal Pass — you’re very welcome to cook and eat to your own budget.

We do have a small Focus Fund that can be used to offer half-price or fully funded Meal Passes. If food cost would be a barrier for you, you can apply via a short form which goes directly and discreetly to our Treasurer. We’ll aim to allocate support in batches so we can be as fair and generous as possible with the funds available.

Camping kit

While we don’t centrally hold camping kit to lend, that doesn’t mean we can’t help.

The first step is always to ask around — talk to your small group leader, church friends, or people you serve alongside. You might be surprised how many people have a spare tent or bits of camping kit they’re happy to lend.

If you’re having no luck, you’re very welcome to email focus@babristol.org. We may not be able to promise to find you a tent or sleeping bag, but we can help connect you with others in the church who might be able to help. One big church family helping each other out.

Cooking kit

The same applies for cooking kit. Before buying anything new, it’s always worth chatting with people in your small group or wider church family to see what might already be available to borrow or share.

The B&A Meal Pass also exists to reduce the need for cooking equipment altogether, so coming to Focus doesn’t mean investing in lots of kit you may never use again.

Travel — Getting to Focus (Newark Showground, NG24 2NY)

If you’re travelling from Bristol, Focus is very doable by public transport as well as by car.

By train

Most people travelling by train will start at Bristol Temple Meads and travel to Newark Northgate. This usually involves one change and takes around 3–4 hours, depending on the route. Booking in advance and using a Railcard (if you have one) can significantly reduce the cost.

From Newark Northgate, the Showground is around 3–4 miles away. The final part of the journey is usually done by:

  • Taxi

  • A lift from someone already on site

  • Occasionally local buses, with a short walk at the end

By coach

Direct coaches from Bristol to Newark are limited and often involve changes, but they can be worth checking if you’re looking for a lower-cost option. Coaches usually depart from Bristol Bus & Coach Station and may connect via larger nearby cities.

Lift-sharing

Many people find lift-sharing is the easiest option. We’d really encourage chatting with your small group leader, friends, or people you serve with to see if travelling together is possible.

We’ve explored running a B&A minibus this year, but it isn’t currently viable. We’ll continue to explore future options. If a ticketed coach from Bristol is something you’d be interested in down the line, please register your interest by emailing focus@babristol.org, as this really helps us gauge demand.

Luggage

In previous years we have has some limited space in the B&A van for luggage, due to the additional cooking equipment this year, we sadly won’t have the space to offer that. Please do talk to friends, small group leaders or the team to see if anyone else can help.

If any of this raises questions, or if you’re feeling unsure whether Focus is doable for you, please don’t sit with that on your own. Reach out, have a conversation, and let’s see what might be possible together.
