Blacksmiths at work! - B&A Church

Fred and Martina Brodnax are a husband and wife blacksmiths team. Their forge and workshop is at the base of Somerville Road, just off the Gloucester Road.

They were recently commissioned by B&A Church to create 240 individual handmade decorative iron bars to make the balcony safe for our smaller guests. The skill and attention to detail in their craftsmanship has been inspiring the B&A family lucky enough to see them in the worship space this week. Each bar is unique and individually mounted and polished to a shine by Marina using beeswax. The results are quite breathtaking and appear as if they might always have been there.
