WHO WE ARE
We are a group of people with a heart to welcome those who’ve recently moved to Bristol from Ukraine.
WHAT WE DO
The Ukraine Welcome Hub at B&A is one of 10 similar hubs across Bristol. The hubs exist for guests arriving in the UK from the conflict in Ukraine.
We have been working hard to make our Welcome Hub here at B&A Church as warm and welcoming as possible!
We try to create an atmosphere where guests can feel at home, meet fellow Ukrainians, and chat and socialise in their own language. You don't need to know Ukrainian (or Russian) to help out as there are several translation apps to use, and smiling goes a very long way :) Many of our guests speak excellent English.
Our lively Tuesday evening meeting is a home-cooked meal - a chance to eat together and catch up with friends around the table.
We're building community, helping our guests settle, and pouring out the love of Jesus into every cup of tea. We also try to help in practical ways however we can. There are many intricacies to life as a new arrival in the UK. Sometimes we know the answer, and sometimes we don't, but we always try to figure out the next person to ask.
If you think you can lend your self, your skills and your time to the hub, we would love to have you! We need people who can boil the kettle, make coffee, get out the cups, play with children, chat, welcome, wipe the tables, wash up, smile, and be a friendly presence.
Come along and see what we're about!
